Commute
A downloadable game for Windows
The last train isn't coming.
Something else is.
A terrorist cell has taken over the Line 7 subway station. You're one commuter with a baton, a flashlight and a very bad evening ahead of you.
Fight your way from the ticket hall down to the platforms, through the dark tunnels, the depot and the junction hall - and defuse the bomb before the station becomes your final stop.
🚇 Commute is a tech demo for Krut Engine, an FPS engine I'm building from scratch in C#. It's one compact, hand-crafted level made to show off what the engine can do - not a finished game. Expect rough edges.
▌ WHAT'S IN THE BAG
🔦 Old School level design
One continuous station: buttons, live wires in tunnels, explosive barrels, propane tanks and checkpoints.
🔫 Six weapons
Baton, pistol, SMG, shotgun, grenade launcher and hand grenades. Aim down sights, or use alt fires like burst fire, double barrel and bouncing grenades.
💀 Three kinds of enemies
Terrorists who hold positions and flush you out with grenades, suicide bombers who beep faster... and faster... the closer they get, and something in the tunnels that shouldn't be there. That one's best left a secret.
💥 Physics everywhere
Ragdolls, dismemberment, chain-reaction explosions, and crates and pickups you can carry and throw.
🩸 Crunchy combat
Hit flashes, popping hitmarkers, kill hit-stop, FOV punch, heavy blood and impact effects, and scorch marks that wrap around the geometry.
